The time has come to reveal our baby boy NURSERY with y’all! We are so excited how it came out!

Like I had mentioned in our Baby Products/ Registry Favorites post, I am VERY happy with how things turned out since I am in NO way a designer or have that “designer eye”. Nor am I trendy or fashionable… just being honest. Haha, I like to keep it simple y’all! Anyways, here are the photos of our before (guest bedroom) and afters! And then I’m linking everything down below too!

After browsing Pinterest for WAY too long, I realized what I liked was just a more simple bright and light room with blue accents for our baby boy nursery, instead of a full out “theme” for it or crazy accent walls. I’m not going to lie, I was thinking about the accent wall since it’s the “popular thing to do”… but then it was actually my husband to my surprise (who LOVES themes and disney and is just a little kid at heart), that said he thinks keeping the walls white and just using accents would be great! (*sigh of relief* from me since I didn’t want to go through all that really anyways haha).

My husband IS however, a big Disney fan. So I tried to tie little Disney things into it for him – while keeping it clean and not too, well, Disney theme look haha.

So with all that being said, here is what the room looked like BEFORE as a guest bedroom (with all of my hubby’s old bedroom stuff as a bachelor lol):

Went with just a clean a crisp bright room with lots of blue accents!

I really tried hard to make sure almost everything in the room was “nontoxic” / better, safer options for baby. Including the crib, mattress, video monitor, chair and more! And thanks to Lovevery for sending me their play gym — because it was already on my registry and I was going to end up buying it anyways haha 🙂

Have a diaper cart both in our room and in the nursery since it’s on a different floor! Stocked up on allll my favorite Young Living nontoxic baby items like their wipes (I’ve actually used these for years just for myself they smell so great lol), rash cream, oils and more!

 

Ok very excited about this video monitor because I really wanted to use one, but wanted to be careful about constant radiation in my baby’s room! After LOTS of research, this low-radiation one, won hands down! And best news? My step sister also said the Hatch changing pad was a must! She loved that it was a scale too and she was able to make sure her little one was growing properly / getting enough milk!

 

After the initial rocker got delayed month after month we ordered, my sister said she had wished she actually had a recliner with her kids instead,  so we ended up getting THIS Arlo one that’s a recliner instead! And I’m very excited to have a comfy recliner instead actually! Made sure it was greenguard certified material too. And bonus, you can get it on amazon so it’s not backordered like all other furniture these days!

ps: our baby bjorn bouncer in the corner will probably just float around wherever I am, but for now just have it in the corner here!

Loved added a little scripture on the wall form Etsy 🙂 And the disney accent of course for the hubby!

Was so excited to be able to finally get our little kid’s owl diffuser set, now that I’ll be a mama! Comes with our kidscents line of essential oils (pre-diluted but you’ll want to dilute more for babies! Once you buy any YL products with my link, you’ll get into educational groups that show you how to do all that!). And then we got the Dohm and the Hatch sound machines too! (we used the dohm pictured here earlier on, and then switched to the hatch that we were gifted!)

The window sill was a tough one! We wanted to do white or blue Roman Shades, but sadly these windows didn’t allow for them how they were built, so we just went with blackout curtains instead! And then got those cute pillows and baskets as decor. See links below 🙂

And here is our bedroom set up, since let’s be honest, that is where he’ll be the first few months instead of upstairs in his nursery 😛

snoo bassinet review

We scheduled the snoo bassinet to be delivered 10 days before his “due date”, hoping that we’d have it by the time we came, but also that we’ve have time to see if he liked it within the 30-day refund period. So as I write this post, we got it before he came! Now let’s see if we get to trial it out or if he comes late 😛

UPDATE: we really wanted to love the snoo, but unfortunately baby boy threw up every time we put him in it due to the more jerky movements, so we returned it within the 30-day period. We are now trying out THIS Baby Delight one here, as I’ve heard great things about it! (UPDATE: we LOVED it, and because it’s bigger than most bassinets, lasted in it until ready to transition to crib even as a bigger baby! Will definitely use for baby 2 on the way!)

      • other one I’ve heard some love that swivel is the Halo one.
      • UPDATE: we really wanted to love the snoo, but unfortunately baby boy threw up every time we put him in it due to the more jerky movements, so we returned it within the 30-day period. Also heard too many mixed opinions about it. We are now trying out THIS BD one here, as I’ve heard great things about it! (update again: loved it!! will use next baby again!)
    • Diaper Cart: this is the one I got, but sometimes white is out of stock!  There are a ton of others on amazon that are similar in white though!
    • Snuggle Me Organic in birch (this was a lifesaver!)
    • Boppy Nursing Pillow
      • We like this one but our midwife said the “my Brestfriend pillow” was a lot better of an option even though the Boppy is most “popular” out there, after seeing me use mine, so I have THIS “brestfriend” one now ordered too so i have both options!
        • update: the brestfriend one was so needed in early days when i needed the PERFECT position to BF in as a newbie. But then really only used boppy pillow after the first month!

 

In the Nursery

Swings: We were gifted the 4moms one, and he didn’t not like it, but honestly he more loved the cheaper baby bjorn (non electronic) bouncer (we got a LOT of use out of that!!) or the swing below that we tried out at friends homes! I’ll also include the 4moms in the folder because I know some moms that did absolutely love it!!

  • Diapers (trying all the more natural ones!)
        • Honest Diapers in sizes newborn-3
          • update: these didn’t work well for us early on, but now at 18mo love the honest overnight ones for night!
        • Millie Moon Diapers in sizes newborn-3
          • we LOVED these his first year but MM changed their ingredients and are no longer nontoxic. So we now use Joonya throughout day and honest overnight. We will probably try Joonya for baby 2 early on and hop they work as well on a newborn as they do with BRady as a toddler!
