Who loves pizza?!
When this month’s recipe redux theme came out “Pizza Party”, the wheels of my mind started turning.
After all my unique pizza recipes already on my blog, like my , my , my , or my ..I didn’t know what I wanted to make next!
But after a lot of thought..okay maybe about 5 minutes of thought in which I was really craving dessert, I decided to make a dessert pizza crust! And I had some bananas on hand that I was going to make banana bread with. That is when the Banana Bread Pizza Crust was born.
I knew I wanted to make a paleo option, so I started off just making one crust that incorporated the delicious taste of caramelized bananas and coconut. But when that turned out so delicious, I knew I wanted to make a second! But chocolate this time 🙂 Dark Chocolate and Banana to be exact. I mean, we all know that the banana bread with chocolate chips is the best kind anyways!
Unlike your other typical dessert pizzas you see out there, these two different crusts are paleo or gluten free, and free from all the butter and sugar! The best thing about making healthy desserts…these two “dessert” pizzas could even be eaten for just a snack or [gasp] even breakfast!
There are so many benefits in coconut, bananas, and even dark cocoa..so there is an even better reason to make one of these crusts.
For your next party maybe? Or what about for the superbowl dessert or snack? Or Valentines Day? I can just see it now: a chocolate banana dessert pizza for your loved one 🙂
And toppings?! Well those can vary! You could use my Healthy mixed with dark cocoa and raw honey like I did for the Coconut Banana Crust (of course, mixed a little cocoa in there). Or my Healthy for my Chocolate Banana Crust. Or top either with my , mmmm. Or either my . Or my . Ahh, the options are limitless!
Cater these crusts to how YOU desire, incorporating the flavors YOU love. Whether that be to make a true dessert pizza by topping it with lots of candy/chocolate. Or making it a lighter yet delicious breakfast/snack option by topping it with fruit and yogurt! No matter how you top it, you’ll be happy you made these “pizzas”.
This is my kind of pizza for sure.
Until Next Time,
xoxo, Sarah Grace

- 1 teaspoon Psyllium Husks
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- ½ teaspoon Sea Salt
- ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- Place mashed banana into a small microwavable bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, to “caramelize” and bring out all the sweetness
- In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients
- Add wet ingredients to the bowl with the heated banana and mix together
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir
- Allow to sit for 2 minutes for the coconut flour to absorb liquid
- Scoop onto a cookie sheet or pizza circular sheet, and shape into a thin circle (or thicker if wanting that type of “crust”
- Bake for about 10 minutes, flip, and bake for about 5 more minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before topping
- ¾ cup Brown Rice Flour
- ½ cup Tapioca Starch
- ¼ cup Dark Cocoa
- 2 medium Bananas (about heaping ½ cup mashed)
- ¼ cup Egg Whites
- ½ cup Baking Stevia
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
- ½ teaspoon Sea Salt
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- Place bananas sliced into a microwaveable bowl and microwave for 1 minute (this will bring out the sweetness and “caramelize it”, and also allow for easy mashing)
- Mix all dry ingredients together in another large bowl
- Add wet ingredients to banana in microwaveable bowl after heating
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix
- Spoon onto cookie sheet or circular pizza sheet, and spread into an even circle (I made this crust a thicker, brownie like crust, but I think a thin crust for this one almost would have been better!)
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until crisp on the outside and done on the inside
- Remove from oven and allow to cool, top with desired toppings
- 1/2 cup Homemade Coconut Cream “Frosting”
- 1/4-1/2 cup Pumpkin Puree (depending on how much pumpkin flavor you desire)

- Prepare coconut cream according to directions
- Mix in all other ingredients
- Store in refrigerator until using (and refrain from eating all with spoon) 🙂
