Happy day before Easter y’all!!
Can it be true you ask? Healthy, powdered sugar?! That you can make yourself?!
Yes it sure is! When wanting to make some Easter treats, they all called for powdered sugar. And I wasn’t too into adding a ton of real powdered sugar. So, I created my own! High protein and healthy!!
How does mine measure up to regular powdered sugar?!
Mine vs. Real Powdered Sugar
838 kcal 933 kcal
117 g carbs 238 g carbs
8.8 g sugar 234 g sugar
78.9 g protein 0 g protein
I call that a winner!
Made with only raw Stevia, About Time’s Vanilla Whey, and Tapioca Starch, this is the cleanest powdered sugar you will find! A great “duster” for cookies and sweets for an extra protein kick, or a great addition to recipes like those peanut butter filled eggs (instead of using peanut butter and powdered sugar, use this and peanut butter!). Mmmm.
- 1 cup Vanilla Whey powder (I used About Time Whey, see notes below)
- 1 cup Tapioca Starch
- 4 packets raw Stevia
- Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until light and fluffy like sifted powdered sugar.
- Make sure to completely blend, and that all ingredients are going through the actual blender to get “sifted”.
- Keep in jar until desiring!!
But as I write this post, I can’t help but to think of what Easter truly is about. I don’t want to sit here and sugar coat this day, saying it is all about the yummy recipes or about the bright colored eggs. No, it isn’t about the bunnies, the candy, the baskets, or even the egg hunts..it’s about Jesus.
Now you may have written off what I’m about to say after reading that last sentence, but please don’t. As a woman who is following Christ, I care so much about each and every one of you, just as He does. And I want you to know today, that no matter where life has you right now, there is hope. On this very special day we celebrate, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and because of that, we all can have hope.
It is the greatest gift of all. And don’t ever let any of those that claim to know Jesus but simply live a “religious life”, make you think you don’t onhealthy cialis deserve it, or that you can’t come and receive this gift just as you are. This is about Jesus loving you and wanting to be in a relationship with you. Not about wanting to make you follow a set of religious rules.
Each day I am reminded just how wonderful it is. Why? Because no matter how many times I let him down, how many times I “fail”, how many times I come short of doing what I know is right or living the life I know God intended..God never leaves me or gives up on me. It is such a crazy concept to us, because all we know down here on earth are people that are continually giving up on us, treating us poorly, forgetting about us, leaving us, or letting us down. Even the most loved ones in our life are going to let us down at one time or another..but not Jesus.
No matter how many times I stray from the path, no matter how far I try to run, Jesus is in continual pursuit of me. I feel like so often as a follower of Christ, I feel pressure to “sugar-coat” the greatness of God, so that I don’t scare people away. As a blogger and in having a presence in much of social media, I feel that if I express my heart and the love of Jesus, my followers and readers will just write me off and not come to my account or blog again. But today I realized that if that is the case, it is okay. Because I want to share this wonderful news with you all.
because it is the best news ever.
On this very special day, Jesus rose from the dead after dying for each and every one of us. BEFORE I wanted to follow him, BEFORE I decided to love him, when I was still running away.. he died for me. And he did the same for you!
Have you been convinced that God is just a myth? a good human being now dead? That Easter is just about bunnies and candy and baskets? The world is striving to convince us every day of just this. But I challenge you today to take a leap of faith. Allow love to bring your faith back to life.
Easter may be about a hunt, just not us in search for plastic eggs. It is a risen Savior in pursuit of his loved creation.
Reach out to someone in your life that can lead you into a relationship with Jesus. Attend your local church for a service tomorrow and talk to some of the elders. And if you don’t have that person or place to go in you life yet, reach out to me. I am here for you. For each and every one of you that want guidance and help. I am no where near perfect or have achieved any level of great knowledge myself, I do make mistakes, I do fall short, I do try to run at times still, and I will always have growing to do..but I am more than happy to walk the journey with you <3
Because our God is not dead. And he is walking with us.
