Finding Freedom
The constant cycle of dieting and never feeling good about your body is exhausting. Living a healthy lifestyle shouldn’t take away from your relationship with God by being the biggest focus in your life. Gods plan for you includes finding freedom from this broken cycle. A relationship with him is the key to breaking out and finding freedom. When you focus on the cross and on him is when you’ll find true freedom.
Honoring your body
The bible calls your body a temple and it deserves to be treated as one! The bible calls you to take care of yourself which includes fueling yourself properly and honoring your body with movement. We are only given one body while we are on this earth so taking care of it with what you eat matters! The idea that your health is important is easier to understand if you take yourself out of it. The food you eat impacts the energy you’re giving to other people. In order to better serve others you need to first take care of yourself. Honoring your body and taking care of yourself will allow you to be a better disciple.
Honoring your body can be done without taking over your entire life. Focusing on eating balanced meals, learning portion control, getting enough sleep, and drinking enough water will lead you to your goals. The process may be slower than a diet but the results are life style change that will last for a lifetime.

2 Journals Prompts to get you thinking
What’s threatening my freedom?
What’s distracting me right now?
Once you brainstorm and have a list go ahead and circle one. Once you have a specific one in mind focus on removing it. Don’t try to do this alone, lean on God and let him help you. Pray on removing it from your life. Stay disciplined and keep your eyes on the cross as you work to remove the distraction from your life. It helps to remember your why. You’re working towards a lifetime of freedom and a relationship with God.

The Power of community
We thrive better when we have community and accountability. I challenge you to get involved at church by joining a small group! If you don’t have a community in person don’t be afraid to find a community online. Go get coffee with someone this week and sharing what you’re struggling with and what you need prayer for.
