After Kendra reached out to me, informing me of fit family lifestyles month, I wanted her to stop by Fresh Fit N Healthy in order to tell all my lovely readers about it as well! Welcome Miss Kendra Thornton as she tells you all about this special month 🙂
This Is Fit Family Lifestyles Month: How You Can Celebrate
Looking good and feeling great is my motto. Since I am a mother to three young children,
I do not have any choice but to be active. That is why I always try to stay fit, regardless of
whether I am on the road or at home. Below are some tips that I use to stay fit while I am on
the road in honor of celebrating Fit Family Lifestyles Month!
Fresh Air: You should make stops as often as you can. If possible, you should stop
somewhere like a park or rest stop. You should listen to your kids if they tell you they need
to go to the bathroom. They will be able to get some fresh air. Your kids will also be able to
use up some of their energy. Children have a tendency to become restless if they are in the
car too long.
Snacks: You should pack snacks that are dry and easy to pack. Bananas, strawberries, dried
coconut flakes; peanuts and raisins are examples of some of the snacks that are great for
road trips. Celery and Homemade Nut Butter like Miss Sarah Grace’s here would be an amazing snack. You can also pack some M&Ms to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Wear Sneakers Instead Of Heels: Make sure that you pack a pair of sneakers in your bag so
there are no excuses to work out on vacation. I like wearing comfy sneaks on my travel days
so I don’t have to worry about packing an extra pair in my luggage! I enjoy going for walks
on the beach or runs in the morning before the kids wake up – plus there is usually a gym in
any hotel you stay at.
Stay At A Hotel That Has Accommodations: If you will be traveling with very small children
or infants, then you should try to make the sleeping environment as close to the home
environment as you possibly can. This includes things such as bringing their favorite books
to read, sleep sacks, special blankets, child’ sheets and noise machines. Your children will
feel more comfortable if their sleeping environment is very close to home.
Try To Plan Your Trip In Advance: You should create a roadmap of the things that you
want to accomplish while on your trip. Hiking trail, outdoor museums and theme parks are
examples of fun places you can go. You will not only be able to have fun, but you will also be
able to exercise.
I am very happy to celebrate Fit Family Lifestyles Month. I hope that you liked hearing
about tricks and tips for staying healthy while you are on the road. I also like packing
nutritious lunches for my children and getting them involved in outdoor activities and
sports. My family enjoys making snowmen this time of year. How will you and your family
be celebrating?
Thank you so much Kendra for sharing your advice on living a Fit Family Lifestyle! I know I’ll be keeping these tips in mind. Even though I don’t have kids yet, I love to center my vacations on places that encourage outdoor activity..and I never forget to pack my own snacks on the go like my homemade nut butters, my no bake peanut butter balls, my protein peanut bread, or my homemade, no sugar added pumpkin peanut butter granola!
What are you favorite snacks to pack for the road ?!?!
