I feel ya. I was extremely skeptical and actually shot down my sister the first 3 times she told me I needed to try it. A patch? Ehhh no thanks. Not to mention my husband laughed when I tried to put it on him, saying "I don't want my employees to think I'm wearing a nicotine patch".

So that's where we started out.

What changed? I saw it working for my mom and that made me begin to research more into the whole concept of phototherapy and how this technology works. I knew light was good for us, and I also knew that people flew to all kinds of distant countries just to get stem cell injections in order to rejuvenate their bodies or help with pain... so the fact an easy to wear patch could possibly have a similar effect was intriguing to me.

How does it work?

There are some helpful videos on this page that do a MUCH better job than I can in describing it, but here is a summary of it:

In each patch, are organic nanocrystals with new, proprietary and patented crystal formation (That's where the patented technology comes in - the way the scientists have formed the specific crystalline structures to work in our bodies!!). Each patch has different proportions of combinations of amino acids, water, stabilized oxygen, sugars and salts that each form a different crystal lattice structure because of the ratios of the substances contained therein.

The patches are activated by your own body’s light frequencies such as infrared and visible light that we cannot see with our eyes. Each patch is designed to specifically elevate a normally occurring peptide that our bodies produce. Because of the different structural formation and pattern of the different crystal lattice structures, each patch reflects a different frequency back into our body, that we are already making, thereby activating the production of specific useful and beneficial peptides that in turn activate different pathways in our bodies for long term better health and function!

The process is called photobiomodulation, light creating change in the body.

The patches are latex free, non-transdermal, completely free of any drugs, chemicals, or stimulants and do not interfere with any medications you are taking since nothing goes into your body. The patches simply reflect back inwards the wavelength of light emitted from our body.

AKA, NOTHING is going into your skin in terms of outside ingredients. So it's totally safe because you're not putting anything weird into your body (aka, like say those other types of patches out there that transdermally put something in your body)

Ok maybe YOU didn't ask this, but I sure did! Like I said, I was skeptical, and I was thinking, ok if nothing is coming out of the patch into our bodies, WHY can't you just re-use the same patch? Why do I need to continuously buy a supply to wear new ones daily? Here's what I found out!

In short: Our bodies, emit, heat and light. It reflects it on the infrared spectrum back down into the body and specific wavelength and with that heat reflecting will break down the crystalline structure after about 16 hours so that's why we were for 12 because it's still at optimal performance after 12 hours the performance drops and the patches come inactive. Basically, the crystals don’t stay in structure after 14-16 hours.

A more lengthy answer (trust me I went all the way to the OWNERS to figure this out because again, I was skeptical even though I saw it working for my family and I!):

LifeWave patches are designed for single-use and intended to be worn for a maximum of 12 hours. Here are the reasons for this guidance:

1. Efficacy and Activation Duration: The patches are engineered with specific nanocrystals that are activated by body heat. These crystals are most effective within the 12-hour window. Beyond this period, their efficacy diminishes significantly, and reusing the patch will not provide the intended benefits. By the 14-16 hour mark, they are totally ineffective because he crystals don’t stay in structure after that timeframe.

2. Hygiene and Adhesion: Reusing a patch is not hygienic. After 12 hours of use, the adhesive on the patch can collect sweat, oils, and dead skin cells, which can lead to skin irritation or infection if reapplied. Additionally, the adhesive's effectiveness decreases after the initial use, making it difficult to keep the patch securely in place.

3. Nano Crystals Degradation: The nanocrystals in the patches start to degrade upon activation by body heat. This degradation is a gradual process that renders the patches less effective over time. Keeping the patches in close proximity to the body, such as in a pocket, or exposing them to high temperatures, like leaving them in the sun, can further accelerate this degradation. --> ** now I dove even deeper into this response because my head went to, "well, what about in the mailtruck in the middle of summer heat? Does it degrade then? But what I found out was the 14-16hr degradation mark was only when on the skin's light/heat factor, and as long as packaged as it comes (they had to change packaging a few times to get this right), it can withstand even 100 degree weather for 2 days as it's making it's way to your home -- but again, why we shouldn't leave our patches in a hot car for weeks on end).

The cool thing is, everyone's body responds differently when using the patch because it depends where the internal work is needed most!
