My momma.
She raised me and my older brother and sister as a single mom, working full time..
She would get up at 4am, run around our lake and swim laps in our pool..then make our breakfast and wake us all up for school..then make our lunches..then drop us off at the bus stop..then go to a full day of work as a nurse anesthetist.. then pick us all up and take all of us to our individual sports practices and games (yes, all three of us played at least 1 or 2 sports)..then have a huge nice family dinner for us all to come home to..then be up till about 1 am doing laundry and preparing for the next day..and wake up at 4am to do it all over again.
My momma is one special lady. And I would be so proud to become even half as good of a mom as she has been. <33
So for Mother’s Day this year, I wanted to do something special, but had no idea what to get her.
She always tells me not to get her anything, because she doesn’t need any more “stuff”.
Which is true, of both her and I. We feel so “stuffed out” with everything we have lying around, we always make the joke we need NOTHING when a holiday comes around these days.
But one thing I know she loves with living a healthy lifestyle like me is her fresh herbs she grows.
The taste of fresh basil or rosemary on any dish, just completes it!
So when I came across this Galvanized Plantar Tub that I could have personalized, I thought wow, this would be something special 🙂
When she opened it up, she was so excited! I think her reaction was something like, “I didn’t think I needed anything, but THIS I really did need!”.
See, she just had accidentally killed off all her basil (those things are so hard to keep alive sometimes!) because of not having a big enough pot for it..
So we got to spend Mother’s Day planting her very new basil sprouts! Growing love, one basil plant at a time 🙂 #LoveGrowsHere
Let’s hope these grow and have a little more luck than the last ones!
Yes, my momma sure is a special person to me. She is not only my mom, but my role model, my best friend, and one that if I can do just HALF of what she did…I will feel like I have completed the world.
Oh, and remember these little balls of joy that I made her? If you missed that post, check it out here for a yummy no bake, high protein cake ball recipe!
