If anyone is like me out there, they have WAY TOO MANY t-shirts for one’s own good.
From high school with all my soccer and cross country t-shirts..to college with both all my shirts I got as a runner at the University of Florida to my many tanks and t-shirts from being in the sorority Alpha Delta Pi.. I HAD TOO MANY.
But you know how that goes. You “can’t” throw them away because they aren’t “just t-shirts”. They are memories. Every shirt brings back a special moment or two of “that one time”.
Memories are something worth more than money could ever give you. I mean, that is why I made a whole video of my college graduation day. Because I didn’t want to ever forget a special day like that.
And why I have thousands (no joke) of photos on Facebook.
I love anything that brings back memories. Which is why I am continually annoying family and friends by bringing the camera out.
But what can you expect from a blogger and instagrammer?
Basically what I’m trying to say is..this girl loves her memories.
So for me, I just couldn’t seem to get rid of any of my t-shirts.
I have always heard about those tshirt quilt companies, but just for some reason never brought myself around to doing it after high school with all of my shirts (laziness on my part mostly, can you relate?)
BUT then as I just graduated college..my mom began THROWING AWAY t-shirts WITHOUT telling me (gasp), because she knew I wouldn’t, but she couldn’t stand all the shirts just laying around back home. I was like nooooo
(I had not only filled up my room with STUFF, but now my older sisters and brothers room as well)
So as you may guess..I got out of my laziness and FINALLY MADE this t-shirt quilt using Project Repat!
HOW FUN?! (you may have already seen my instagram post HERE of mine! but you can also find many other examples on instagram by searching the hashtag #projectrepat)
I now have ONE blanket, with memories from high school running, my high school missions trip to Haiti, my college running, and my time in my sorority Alpha Delta Pi!
So many memories, one t-shirt. The process was SO SIMPLE. Can’t believe I was too lazy before this to make it. All I did was order it, send in my t-shirts, and within two weeks I already had a quilt back!
And best of all, my mommas happy now too, because I’ve cleaned out many of my t-shirts after picking my favorites to put on the quilt.
Win win?
I think so 🙂
Need help or want to know how you can make one?! Watch THIS VIDEO here. Hope you get to make a quilt full or memories too!
Thank you to Project Repat and Her Campus Media for partnering on this post!
