This recipe was inspired one day when I decided to take a break from technology, go on a walk at a place called Payne’s Prarie right outside campus that I love to go to, and simply, “look up”.
See, my favorite water brand, smartwater, is holding this Instagram Campaign called “look up”, and I decided to take the challenge!
Sometimes, it really is just needed to take a break from all the chaos and distractions, and simply look up to see nature’s beauty. I know as a blogger, it is so hard to get away from all of technology with continually trying to keep up with Instagram and Facebook and Twitter and this site. But we all need it. We all just need a break sometimes. A fresh perspective.
What did I become inspired by when sitting down and looking up?
These gigantic trees with multiple, strong branches, along with a beautiful blue sky with clouds that appeared so fluffy. It brought me back to the time when I was little, sitting under a huge tree with my mom out at our secluded cabin in Minnesota, looking up at the beautiful blue sky. It is memories like those at my cabin that remind me of the simplicity of life, as all growing up, it didn’t have electricity or running water..we would go to bed when the sun set, and wake up when the sun rose, simply to play in the lake, catch fresh fish for dinner, and my favorite, catching little critters and mice and calling them my friends.
When getting back on campus from this lovely break from technology inspired by smartwater (follow @smartwater on Instagram), I remembered just how needed these breaks are for a healthy life. Breaks from the chaos and busyness, breaks from the constant phone calls and text messages. A break to appreciate the small things.
