Find out your pregnancy, but then instantly be overcome with fears? Today we’re talking all about pregnancy anxiety and how to combat it.
You get so excited when you get that positive pregnancy test, you celebrate with your closest family and friends, and you’re just feeling on top of the world. But then, at some point, usually sooner than later, it hits you like a brick wall. The fears of miscarrying. The fears that something may not be right. The fears of being pregnant. The anxiety of not knowing how your little baby is doing in there hour to hour. Or was that just me as a worrier personality type? 🙂
Pregnancy anxiety is REAL, and for me, it got even more real when I had legitimate scares in my second trimester of some spotting on and off for two weeks. But today I’m sharing what got me through the first trimester worries and the second trimester unknowns — and what WILL keep me going as a mother from here on out. I hope you enjoy!
ps: if you are a Christ believer like me, I’ve also included some of my go to bible verses and prayers down below <3

Some Bible Verses I turned to daily to combat pregnancy anxiety:
- No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD. Is 54:17
- Psalm 91: Whoever dwells in the shelter(A) of the Most High will rest in the shadow(B) of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge(C) and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear(I) the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
- There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” – 1 John 4:18.
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Prov 3:5
- Psalm 55: My heart is anguish within me… fear and trembling come upon me and horror overwhelms me…(v4-5) But I call on the Lord evening, morning and noon… he hears my voice. He redeems my soul in safety. (v16-18) Cast your cares/anxieties on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. (v22)
- For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
- Exodus 23:26 – none of God’s children will be barren or will miscarry and He will fulfill the number of our days.
- When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” Ps 94:19
- In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Ps 4:8
- But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with a favor as with a shield” Ps 5:11-12
- You will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. -Isaiah 26:3
- For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:13-14
- Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. – Psalm 22:9-10
- He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes. -Psalm 112:7
PREGNANCY PRAYERS I prayed to Combat Anxiety
Thank you Lord in advance for allowing me to have a peaceful, problem-free, pain free homebirth, where your presence is so obvious, in your perfect timing, and that it will not be a very long laboring process. I pray that at the soonest that he is ready and would be stable outside of the womb, you will bring him out to meet us. Thank you Jesus for this gift of life. For entrusting us to raise this man up for You. I am forever grateful for opening up my womb and allowing us to start our family, even on the tough days. Thank you Jesus. I love you.

Dear Lord,
I declare that you are the author and giver of life. Your Word says that all things have been created by and for you. You are before all things, and in you all things hold together. Today I ask that the spirit of life me on me and in me, providing everything this baby and my body need to bring forth life to the glory of God. I stand on the goodness and faithfulness of you, Lord, that will bless us with this healthy and whole child. May my life and theirs bring glory and honor to you. Thank you for allowing me to have a supernatural, pregnancy and childbirth. I am freed from the curse of the law and will enjoy a smooth labor and delivery of this healthy boy, and successful nursing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Dear Lord, I praise you for this wonderful life growing inside of me. I pray that my baby will continue to grow properly and be 100% healthy. Cause all the parts of the body to grow right and be strong. And Lord, I pray that my child will have a happy heart and joyful spirit. Give him or her a personality that draws others to want to be friends.
Lord please make all of my test results accurate and with good results. Give the doctors/midwives wisdom. If anything is amiss at this point, heal my baby and make him totally, completely perfect, in Jesus’ name. I stand on the holy Bible that promises us that God heals all diseases. You are our creator and healer, lord God, and I claim perfect health for my baby boy.
God, you are awesome and I thank you for this miracle of this baby growing inside of me. Please help this entire pregnancy to grow smoothly, and help me to enjoy this amazing time in my life. This truly is a gift from You, and I praise You for it. Thank you Lord. In Jesus name.Â
I agree with what God says: that I’ll conceive and I’ll not lose my baby. I’ll not cast my fruit before it’s time. I will have a healthy, whole baby because I am redeemed from the curse, according to Gal 3:13, and I will have this baby at home, safely, smoothly, without pain, and be able to hold a completely healthy baby in my arms this April 2022.
Dear Lord,
I declare that you are the author and giver of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I believe that You will make my baby strong and healthy. Also, I believe You will help them develop correctly without any issues, the way that You intended. Psalm 139:13-14 (NKJV) says, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Lord, I pray You would help my baby to nurse and/or bottle-feed easily. I ask in Jesus’ name that there would be no issues with feeding. Help my baby to be able to latch on easily. Furthermore, help them to get all the nourishment they need to not only grow, but thrive!
Lord, I pray my baby would have no complications now or after birth.
I believe it’s Your will for this pregnancy to go smoothly and normally. Let there be no complications now or after the baby is born, in Jesus’ name.    Â
Help my baby to stay in the correct position for birth, in Jesus’ name! Align them to the anterior position. Help my baby and my body to be ready for birth!
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the child You are giving me. Thank you for this awesome miracle of new life. You are the only one who knows if I am having a boy or a girl, and whichever it is, I ask You to bless my baby with good health and with love. Lord, please help me feel well physically, and take away any morning sickness or other hardships that may make it hard for me to concentrate on You and this gift You are giving me. I pray against miscarriage, Jesus. I know how common it is, but I know You want me to have a healthy baby, and so I claim a healthy pregnancy, in Jesus’ name. I know love is the most important gift I can give my baby, so help me to be the most loving mother I can be. Father God, I want to be an extension of Your love. Use me to bring Your love into my child’s life. Anoint me to teach my child how to pray. Help me teach my child Your ways and Your Word. Help me to be a good role model. And again, I praise You for this wonderful miracle of life that’s growing inside me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Dear Lord, I pray for my baby’s brain development. I pray that my baby will develop a healthy, intelligent brain. I pray now that this baby will grow normally, just as it is supposed to, according to Your plan for pregnancy. I pray that the cells will multiply and grow and that the brain and spinal cord will develop properly. Give my baby a strong spinal cord and a strong, intelligent mind. And because Your Word says, “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do” (John 14:13), I am obeying Your Word by asking You to bless my baby’s growth and make my baby healthy and strong. I also ask that You will bless my baby with an excellent memory. Lord, help me teach my baby to memorize Scriptures, and help my baby to memorize them easily and quickly. I pray that Bible verses will come to his or her memory quickly in times of need. I thank You for Your promise of giving us peace, so I don’t have to worry about something being wrong with my baby. I declare the power of Your Word and Your Holy Spirit to come to pass. May my baby’s brain develop just as it should, and may my child be blessed with a high IQ, to be used for Your glory. And, Lord, I pray that my son or daughter will grow up to be a person of prayer – that he or she will have faith and tap into Your power through prayer. I pray in the name of the Father God, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Father God, I thank You for my baby’s heartbeat, and even though I can’t hear it yet, I know You can. Bless my baby’s heart and cause it to grow strong, just as it should be. Protect my baby’s heart from any defects or problems. Your Word says that in the beginning Your creative powers were at work. I acknowledge Your power and ask You to extend it to my baby also. Create a healthy baby, week by week, as he or she grows. And, Lord, give my child a heart to love and serve You. Give my child a tender heart, open to hearing Your voice, and to be kind and compassionate toward others. Please help me to be a good role model of these attitudes as well. Help me lead my child in prayer and in opening up our hearts to You to receive Your love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Prayer Against Genetic Defects
Lord, our Protector and Defender, we ask you to protect our developing baby against any genetic defects. We speak against Down Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, Autism, Sickle Cell Anemia and any other diseases or syndromes that are inherited or occur in the early stage of pregnancy. In the name of Jesus, we curse all evil diseases that would steal, kill, and destroy our precious child. We forbid them from harming our baby and claim the abundant life Jesus came to give. Amen.
Unborn Child Protection Prayer
Dear God, the enemy is against children that are being born in families that worship you. He is destroying children when they are still innocent. That is why I come to you today asking you to protect my child when it is still in the womb up to when he or she will be born and become an adult.  No weapon forged against this unborn child shall prosper, and I refute any tongue that will rise against my child as he or she grows into an adult. I cover him or her with the blood of the lamb. In Jesus’ name, I do believe and pray, Amen.
Father, I thank You for filling my womb with life. I know this precious little baby comes from You and has been destined by You from the beginning of the world. I thank You for this miracle growing inside me, in the “secret place” of my womb. I thank you that You are giving this little baby to us as a gift, but also as a gift for the world. We can’t wait to see another image of Yourself come forth into this world and the plans You have for this child.
We ask you, Father, in Jesus’ name, to hedge our little baby about with Your mighty protection. Watch over this little one each day as You intricately create him/her in the hidden sanctuary of the womb. We ask for Your divine health and that you will sustain me in good health and vitality throughout this whole pregnancy.
I ask that You will fill me with Your joy and that everyone will see the glory of God upon me as I nurture this precious life within me. Thank You again for this amazing miracle and for giving us an eternal soul that will live forever. It is awesome to think that I am part of something eternal.
I pray that You will keep this baby growing in the womb until FULL TERM and this baby will come forth in Your perfect timing.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYERS FOR ME/US
Prayer for Spiritual Parenting
Precious Holy Spirit, as I look forward to the birth of my baby, I ask you to assist my husband and me in spiritual parenting. We want to raise our child in the nurture of the Lord. Help us establish a family devotional time now, so that it’s a routine part of our life when my baby comes. Guide us in directing our dinner discussions toward spiritual things, such as your love and care, so our baby grows up in a home where you are the center. Remind me to sing spiritual songs and speak Bible promises over my baby, even while in my womb. Amen.
Prayer Against Disease During Pregnancy
Jehovah Rapha, my Healer, I pray that you keep my wife safe from all disease during her pregnancy. I pray against urinary tract infections, colds and other viral illnesses, and any other sort of infection. Protect her from diabetes and blood sugar disorders. Keep her blood pressure in a healthy range – keep it from getting too high. Guard her from anemia and blood clots. Keep her heart and thyroid healthy. In Jesus’ name, I rebuke all medical problems that would cause harm to my wife’s body or cause a miscarriage or stillbirth. She is in your hands, mighty and all-powerful God. Amen.
Prayer for Good Sleep
Jesus, my Prince of peace, I pray for my wife, that she would enjoy restful, restoring, and comfortable sleep throughout her pregnancy. Help her find a comfortable sleep position that is safe for her and our baby and where she is less likely to experience heartburn. Protect her from insomnia and night waking caused by hormonal changes, discomfort, or from our baby moving. Help her be able to get daytime naps when she needs them. Guard her against back pain, strange dreams, anxiety, or anything else that would prevent her from sleeping well. Amen.
