Why was Sabre founded? A few had a mission to educate and advocate for the personal safety of college-aged students by empowering them to take control of their own personal security. SABRE wants to help college students to be free to enjoy and maximize their experience on campus by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to be informed.

A personal side story…

Can I let you in a something a little scary? Here at the University of Florida, there has been a rapist on the loose. It isn’t rare that we get UF Police texts sent out to the student body at night about someone suspicious or someone that was causing a little trouble..but in the past two to three weeks, there have been MULTIPLE attacks from one man. Thankfully, all have gotten away, but many only to come away with many bruises and even some blood. It’s been getting very serious here at the university, and police are taking every measure to keep us all safe. I say this not to scare all of you, but to make you aware, that things DO happen like this..every single day. We must prepare ourselves instead of living in fear or in denial. That is why when Sabre Campus Safety contacted me, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate time to try out their safety products like this personal pepper gel with practice gel, runner pepper gel, and an apartment alarm kit. Not only have the attacks been around the outskirts of campus by the sorority houses and apartments (where I live), but one attack was as early as 5pm..right outside one of my classroom buildings! o More than 20% of the more than 12 million women expected to attend

• Law enforcement calls September and October, the first two months of school, the “Red Zone”. These two months have the highest amount of injuries, accidents, and deaths than any other time of the year. During these crucial first two months of school, it is essential for students to be extra cautious as they taking night classes or while learning the campus layout.

Don’t be scared, BE PREPARED.
