As summer comes to an end and fall comes quickly around, I was able to enjoy my last week before school started again across the country in California!
5 days spent with a good friend, Amy, aka Fantastically Fit, (whom I met over one year ago via blogging and began writing ebooks with, before ever getting to meet in person until this past trip!) And then 5 days were spent in Anaheim at one of the biggest health conventions in the country, IDEA WORLD, working with one of my favorite health companies.
But one of the best parts of the trip was getting to naturally stay active with my good friend Amy, through something I’ve missed so much living in Florida, hiking! Florida definitely lacks the mountain factor, but every time I visit a place with them, I remember how much I love them. I find mountains so beautiful and peaceful.
I was definitely in my element as we spent two different days, hiking up two different canyons. One in Hollywood, and a more secluded one in Malibu. Both were stunning and well worth the hike.
And let me tell you, even though I wasn’t doing it to “workout”, muscles in my legs and butt were sore that I didn’t even know existed.
Those are the workouts I love, ones that you do naturally as you enjoy your day and find happiness in what you’re doing.. especially in my favorite aqua Target® C9 shoes (photo below)!
Okay so maybe hiking isn’t plausible to everyone, like people such as me who live in Florida.. But the point is to find something you love, and use that to stay active. Like a pick up game of beach volleyball, soccer or frisbee with friends. Or a walk as you catch up with a friend or family member on the phone. Or a day by the lake or ocean, swimming and playing in the water, or doing any water sports like skiing and wake boarding.
Whatever keeps you active as the chaos of another school/business year begins, find enjoyment in maintaining an active and fit lifestyle. Working out doesn’t have to be a chore. Have FUN with it!
