But let’s cover #2 right here now: genetics for weightloss
A lot of my current clients came to me with the idea that they simply CANNOT lose weight.
Theyve tried everything – whole 30, paleo, keto, detoxes, etc.
Theyve done hours of cardio, HIIT workouts, and weight training.
Their bodies just arent made to lose weight!
Its their genetics.
Then we do a couple things differently and boom! The weight starts to fall off.
Heres the secret: we cant necessarily change our DNA.
But what we sure can do is change which genes are expressed, and which genes are repressed. Studies show that NINETY-FIVE PERCENT of disease-related gene mutations can be influenced by diet and behavior.
And heres the other secret: we all HAVE the right genes.
For some individuals it just might take a little bit more coaxing! But we are ALL the controller of our genes.
Here’s the things you SHOULD START, to begin taking control of your genetics and begin losing that stubborn fat or experiencing the weight loss you’ve been wanting:
- Nutrition is still key! Consistency in the AMOUNT you’re eating, and the quality of foods you’re eating. If you don’t know where to start in this, you can always looks into getting a customized meal plan and macros by a professional dietitian.
- Daily MOVEMENT: Getting that body moving is another huge key. There are SO many benefits of daily exercise. That doesn’t mean it has to be in a gym. Find things that make you feel alive and happy! - Wine. Yep, the resveratrol in red wine has actually been proven to HELP DNA damage! So here’s your permission by a dietitian to have a glass 🙂
- Mindfulness/Destress Activity: whether it’s meditation, prayer, journaling (check out this guided journal), or anything else — finding something that DEstressed you is so key in this chaotic world!
- Sleep! Getting adequate sleep is the last key for taking control of DNA damage.
