Ie cream is certainly another one I won’t give up. All the same to me. I just love my chocolate and frozen dessert. Feel me?
But it’s summertime, and what sounds more appealing than something creamy and delicious yet frozen and refreshing? Not to mention, this protein frozen yogurt will keep you full and satisfied with the added protein.
Nada. Nada is better than that in my opinion.
What’s different about THIS Chocolate Protein Frozen Yogurt?
I’ve made a ton of higher in protein frozen yogurt recipes one here already, like my gingerbread froyo, and my fun superman flavor, and even a delicious healthy cookie dough blizzard {gasp}.
So I decided to make this Chocolate Protein Frozen Yogurt a little different, and pack it with all natural, healthy protein powder! Why should you add protein powder to your diet? Well read this post on which one is best for you that I wrote, aka protein powders 101, and also check out this post on 10 science-backed reasons to eat more of it! For awhile, every powder I would try had tons of fake ingredients and would upset my stomach. Now I go with Now Foods or About Time, with mixing in a new vegan one every once in awhile. No upset stomach here! All natural, lactose free, gluten free, and sweetened only with stevia. Therefore I stick to the ones I trust.
The ingredients for this Chocolate Protein Frozen Yogurt?
Chocolate protein. Yogurt. Almond Milk. Cocoa Powder. Chocolate Chips. Could life get any better? Just because it’s about 100 degrees here in hot south Florida, doesn’t mean I don’t want my chocolate still! Protein frozen yogurt.. the solution to all sweet needs!
The Chocolate Protein Frozen Yogurt mishap?
Yes..this happened. See, food photography is a tough one. Especially when its super hot, and you’re trying to take photos of something frozen. Hurrrrrry, before it melts! Is what I’m screaming in my head (as all my neighbors think I’m crazy weird and love to just take pictures constantly of food). Food bloggers tend to make the photos seem..well, seamless! But let me tell you, a lot goes into photographing food, especially one with a melting point like this protein frozen yogurt!
Well, my “hurrrrry” attitude made my cone tip over. At first I was like nooooo. But then I was like hey, it looks kinda cool like that. And we all make mistakes, right? Protein frozen yogurt on it’s side. Sure I’ll take it. And you better bet I didn’t let it go to waste.
Plus it only made me feel like I HAD to eat it right away then..which is why this photo is coneless..oops. Cone in one hand, camera in the other 🙂
Protein Frozen Yogurt that will keep you healthy and flexin’ those muscles. Packed with protein to not leave you craving other junk food…The perfect summer treat. {and post workout food, and snack, and all meals in between..hey, its healthy!}

- 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (2% vs nonfat yields a creamier texture)
- 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 scoop Chocolate Whey (see note below)
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract (use real that has alcohol in it, or add a tablespoon of vodka to create a creamier texture)
- 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 2-4 packets of Stevia, based on sweetness of whey and your own liking (will taste less sweet once frozen)
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Chips (I used all natural mini, but any will work)
- Combine all ingredients in bowl except for chocolate chips.
- Allow to sit in fridge for at least 2 hours, covered.
- Either freeze according to ice cream maker’s instructions, adding in chips as it churns OR
- If you do not have an ice cream maker, simply freeze in a shallow container after mixing in chocolate chips, stirring every 30 minutes until desired texture is achieved. If allowed to freeze completely, you will need to allow time to thaw slightly before eating.
