One dessert I will NEVER say no to..

frozen yogurt. or ice cream. all the same to this girl.

But it’s summertime, and what sounds more appealing than something creamy and delicious yet frozen and refreshing?

I’ve made a ton of frozen yogurt recipes one here already, like my gingerbread froyo, and my fun superman flavor, and even a delicious healthy cookie dough blizzard {gasp}.

So I decided to make this one a little different, and pack it with all natural, healthy protein! I only use Try About Time protein these days, and it’s because before them, every powder I would try had tons of fake ingredients and would upset my stomach. But not this one! All natural, lactose free, gluten free, and sweetened only with stevia. Therefore I stick to the one I trust 🙂

Chocolate protein. Cocoa Powder. Chocolate Chips. Could life get any better? Just because it’s about 100 degrees here in hot south Florida, doesn’t mean I don’t want my chocolate still! Which is why this is my solution..

Yes..this happened. See, food photography is a tough one. Especially when its super hot, and you’re trying to take photos of something frozen. Hurrrrrry, before it melts! Is what I’m screaming in my head (as all my neighbors think I’m crazy weird and love to just take pictures constantly of food).

Well, my “hurrrrry” attitude made my cone tip over. At first I was like nooooo. But then I was like hey, it looks kinda cool like that. And we all make mistakes, right?

Plus it only made me feel like I HAD to eat it right away then..which is why this photo is coneless..oops. Cone in one hand, camera in the other 🙂

Frozen Yogurt that will keep you thin and flexin those muscles. Packed with protein to not leave you craving other junk food…The perfect summer treat. {and post workout food, and snack, and all meals in between..hey, its healthy!}

Questions for YOU

What is your favorite summer dessert?

What is one froyo flavor you would like to see created on here?

If you could be eating anything right now, what would it be?

Until next time,

Double Chocolate Protein Frozen Yogurt
Prep time
Total time
Serves: 2-4
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (2% vs nonfat yields a creamier texture)
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 scoop Chocolate About Time Whey (see note below)
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract (use real that has alcohol in it, or add a tablespoon of vodka to create a creamier texture)
  • ¼ teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2-4 packets of Stevia, based on sweetness of whey and your own liking (will taste less sweet once frozen)
  • ¼ cup Chocolate Chips (I used all natural mini, but any will work)
  1. Combine all ingredients in bowl except for chocolate chips.
  2. Allow to sit in fridge for at least 2 hours, covered.
  3. Either freeze according to ice cream maker's instructions, adding in chips as it churns OR
  4. If you do not have an ice cream maker, simply freeze in a shallow container after mixing in chocolate chips, stirring every 30 minutes until desired texture is achieved. If allowed to freeze completely, you will need to allow time to thaw slightly before eating.
You can sample or purchase About Time's all natural protein powder here. They offer whey, casein, and vegan protein powders. All are all natural, sweetened only with stevia. Use this code: fff1 for a 25% discount off your entire order!
